Guest speaker
One of the features of the South East Bus Festival that sets it apart from other bus events are the talks by guest speakers. Most have been given by professional busmen who have had long careers in the industry.
The talks each last around thirty to forty minutes and take place in the Cornwallis Room inside the Clive Emson Conference Centre, accessed directly from the exhibition hall (at the end where the stairs are located) in which the sales-stands and model bus displays are situated.
For the 2025 event there will be one guest speaker, Roger French, who is a very well-known dedicated busman and who was managing director of the Brighton & Hove Bus Company for many years.
Although now retired, Roger maintains a keen interest in the bus industry and loves to experience bus and train travel, travelling across the UK to sample the latest developments which he shares online through his very informative twice-weekly Bus and Train User blog.
The event organisers are delighted that Roger has kindly agreed to give a talk which will be based around his travels, citing some of the best, and the worst, experiences that he has enjoyed, or endured, whilst riding the country's extensive bus and rail networks.
It is expected to be a very interesting talk, and so it is hoped that many visitors to the event will put aside some time to sit down and enjoy Roger's informative presentation.
The start time for the talk will be published here once arrangements have been finalised.
